An Anganwadi Worker (AWW) is a frontline female health and child care provider in rural and semi-urban areas. Appointed under ICDS, she plays a vital role in improving maternal and child health, nutrition, and early education.

Child Care & Preschool Education
Teach basic literacy and numeracy to children (3–6 years)
Organize fun, educational activities
Prepare children for formal schooling
Nutrition & Health Services
Distribute supplementary nutrition to children, pregnant & lactating women
Monitor children's growth & development
Maintain weight/height chart
- Health Awareness & Services
Assist in vaccination drives (with ASHA/ANM workers)
Spread awareness about hygiene, nutrition, breastfeeding, etc.
Refer malnourished children or high-risk women to health centers
